i guess the list i compiled on nintendo ds games i had to play or else i’d die wasn’t perfect, but it was a good starting point, ok?
so, what am i really playing?
animal crossing
it’s so fucking deceptively kiddy, but there are so many things to do and so little time to do it. my goals: collect friend pictures, get perfect town rating (done!), collect K.K. Slider songs, finish furniture sets, GET MORE FRUIT HELLO, and breed hybrid flowers. i don’t have a set interval for daily play and my frequent time-traveling has set off a well-known glitch in the game. :( sucks. maybe i’ll create a separate category for it. wheeee~

this game has kept me up too many nights for “just one more try”. every attempt takes you just a step closer to winning, so how can you put it down? baby made me so proud beating jumpin’ jack flash for the first time. aroha is a mincing diva. yc hasn’t had time to beat it yet (so she claims). yes, this is a shared obsession.

phoenix wright series
detective/lawyer game. it’s too cool when you have to scream out objections in court when you find discrepencies in witness testimony. it starts out simply enough, but you just try finding a teensy fault in 20 witness statements from 5 witnesses while sifting through 18 pieces of evidence. the humour and the interwoven plot is too awesome. OBJECTION!!!

the difficulty curve for the recipes is very gradual. what i didn’t like though, is how japanese all the meals suddenly became. still, i like getting gold medals for my imaginary dinners. “Even better than mama!”

mario kart
we (ds clan) definitely play this when we get together. at yong tau foo, coffee bean, night of debauchery. i was never interested but they forced me into a game and i was hooked. how could i not be? i can shoot turtle shells and sotongs at my love rivals!

guitar hero: on tour
only one song at a time unless you want to watch your hand do a little spasm dance. despite being a great adaptations, it ain’t the real thing. (i bet real guitar players think the same of guitar hero, but whatever.) still, i love that jt bought it for me. :D
