“going digital” is the thing of the age it seems. as is posturing online and coercing people to join facebook groups to meet your monthly KPI. tsk tsk tsk.
so, after starting out as an indie dance/music scene (spearheaded by colin fuse i heard) tag is indie no more? well, it would be unfair to judge them so. after all, it’s more zouk and its (mis)management that has irked me.
bar sonic is opening its doors soon (may loft rest in peace) and surprise surprise, has created a facebook group and a “join the group or you’re not getting in” policy.
There will now be NO MORE free entry to TAG @ barsonic via guestlist. There will also be a blanket no free guestlist for other barsonic nights anymore.
is the objective to sell facebook? or annoy people? either way, i think they’ve succeeded.
they also go on to say that once you’ve fulfilled their draconian prerequisites:
Your name will be on the members list if your membership to barsonic group is approved.
then i received a facebook message from adam mathews of zouk with a repeat of the group instructions. i’ve checked and i’m part of the group, so that must mean i’m in right?
well one forwarded email later and i’m not so sure anymore.

no surprise that i didn’t get this email and (despite receiving another facebook update from daryl) who knows if i’ll be going this friday. event and communications mismanagement. i thought it only happened in advertising.
and duh, this isn’t a plea for some action. i’m very self aware of my miserly hits and i’m not datin yc, so no ones going to sit up and take notice of this post within 24 hours. ;p
