i’ve never owned my own baju anything. a hari raya tradition of mine is to arrive at baby’s house on the night of the first day half naked (a pair of hot pants and a tank top, which will earn me a spanking from mima), streak past her house guests and plonk myself into her lovely outfits.

surprise surprise, i bought a yellow (YELLOW!) kebaya for RM200, which the girls assure me is the standard peak season price. looking at the delicate fabric and intricate handiwork, i’m not surprised at how much it costs. but why is the one-piece kain sarung the same price? tsk.

according to my guru, amcorp stocks some affordable kains. so i guess that’s where the next girls’ night will be ;)

pair of super boots/sneakers/monsters (as she calls them). i’ll probably never own something like that (i’d go crazy worrying about wearing them in public), but hot damn, aren’t they totally fine? maybe i should talk to rhine like jt suggested. ;p

some 80s-inspired boatneck dress with puffed sleeves (they call em bishop’s sleeves, how creepy. heh. creepier still is how adrian would love it.)

and of course, these pair of patent slingback heels with stretchable back from nose inspired by (some would say ripped off) nine west. going for RM85 from sales at csc.

need more basics as well: wifebeaters, shorts and LBDs (or LRD). pragmatic spending always eases the opening of the wallet.

shopping sites are evil and pwetty. and i got my skirt delivered to the office today. azlina eyed me with much amusement today as i skipped into the pantry.

my new skirt from velvet ribbon. am gonna wear it tomorrow. muahaha.

have sent my brother to cod with oh, popsicles! this cute chica with cute bajus. and i guess i’m indebted to send him to work for the rest of the week.

which i think is well worth my effort and teensy weensy petrol expenditure.

and then of course i was itching for a new dress. and this ladybird dress from quadruple queen caught me eye.

this should also be on its way to the office straight into the arms of its loving new parent. moi moi moi! not you.

like seriously has some awesome vintage stuff. i’m not too sure if it’s vintage-inspired, or true vintage. whichever it is, i’m still sitting here drooling. unfortunately, of course all the items that i’m hopelessly mad for have been sold. :(

lacquer & lace is a find off yc’s blog which is pretty awesome. i love the christina but they’ve limited the shoes to one pair per size and everything is pending. super affordable as well. have been eyeing a similar pair at vincci+ which, to my horror, is going for rm199. ptui.

seems like baby’s efforts to wean me off red and onto happy yellow is working.

i’ve spent my whole month’s paycheque in my head browsing through everything.

“got such thing too big meh?” i hear you heathens gasp in disbelief. well, i struggled with that concept too, just as i struggled to get my anorexia-ridden body into the dress, rendering my 2 minutes of ironing totally useless. so yeah, anything bigger than a 32A will definitely not fit in that dress.

moving past the mandatory preamble: it’s buttoned down the front, more for show than any practical use. and it impractically reveals peeks at everything underneath. so i decided to don a pair of grey cycling shorts.

i love this job for the wardrobe freedom it affords me.

to avoid any sexual harassment suit methinks, my cd scribbled a note telling me my undies were visible. only they weren’t undies, get with the program, dawg, they’re cycling shorts!

had a good laugh over it with the 7-11 boys over the post-tag-in, pre-lunch, morning smoke.

me: mr drinker thought i was only wearing panties underneath this.
little 7-11: i knew they weren’t la. wrong shape. panties, triangle; shorts, square.
me: yeah la!

later. much later. like 7 and a half hours later… it hit me.

WHY IN GOD’S NAME WAS LITTLE 7-11 LOOKING AT MY CROTCH?!

been getting more concious of how i look these days. with my neurosis, it’s fair to say i’m constantly thinking of where to get bargain buys, shoes, tights, tops, dresses, scarves, tees. it’s taken me this long, but there’s actually night-before planning of work outfits as compared to the years of picking clothing off the floor (after a cursory sniff) to wear like a bachelor boy.

my hair is the one severe obsession. it never behaves. it frizzes. it grows too slow. it grows too fast. it goes out of shape. it’s boring in black. it’s screaming for attention in red.

fuckit. i love it. i fucking love it, you hear!
