i’ve never owned my own baju anything. a hari raya tradition of mine is to arrive at baby’s house on the night of the first day half naked (a pair of hot pants and a tank top, which will earn me a spanking from mima), streak past her house guests and plonk myself into her lovely outfits.

surprise surprise, i bought a yellow (YELLOW!) kebaya for RM200, which the girls assure me is the standard peak season price. looking at the delicate fabric and intricate handiwork, i’m not surprised at how much it costs. but why is the one-piece kain sarung the same price? tsk.

bbm’ed JT a photo of myself in full regalia. he said i look so un-malay, the assumption will be that i’m malaccan. my supposed heritage mah, hon.

according to my guru, amcorp stocks some affordable kains. so i guess that’s where the next girls’ night will be ;)

i had the cutest email exchange with velvet ribbon but was sorely disappointed when she told me my moment’s indecision cost me the lovely ‘furby’ jacket. so i was, to put it mildly, pleasantly surprised when the sweetheart emailed me again later and said she had one more piece on hand and kept it for me.

got it yesterday. quick online monetary transfer (got la some fengsui issues about withdrawing cash yesterday). COD. and this lovely lovely jacket was mine.

thought it would be warm, but since i’ve been a little under the weather, i don’t feel so hot. hur hur hur.

purchasing this bag, we were assured by the stall owner that it was indeed an “original vincci”, which stunned both of us into anguished silence. it was so painful holding our laughter back, i tell you. original vincci, ok. omg don’t play.

got this pleather mng vest and a cute wife beater for RM15. can we all say it together? what a fucking steal.

then on aroha’s birthday dinner, i was presented with a shiny sparkly clutch from kak elly and a green playsuit from yc (which i switched with baby for pink, soweee!).

then baby and i just finished a yum cha session at our favourite weird cheap shopping heaven. we went a little crazy at this shop which sold cosmetic utensils from RM2 – RM8. altogether, my haul was RM13 while hers was RM15.

what what what is this: foot scraper, eyelash curler (with free rubber lining!), nail buff and eyeshadow foam brushes. wow, i mean, wow. will i ever use them all? probably not. but is that besides the point? duh! the point is that this haul is only RM13!
