wordpress: post category style

how to style main page posts by category.

have no time to do a full length pseudo-geeky post now now, but will expand on it after i’ve tested it out. :)

from codex

update: whoops. those two links seem to be for category styling as opposed to having posts from different categories appear differently on the home page.

these two seem to be more of what i’m looking for. Styling Posts by Category and Category-Specific Images, using wordpress categories to style posts

much more complicated too. ;p

css. ocd. add.

maybe a minor tweak on the sidebar for a tag cloud (there weren’t tags in the last incarnation of wordpress i used, and you know what they say about “new toilets”), a little scanning through shiny new plugins and/or widgets (seeing as how i actually made this damn template widget-ready, i so fucking rule) and i think i might actually be done.

took approximately a week for the wordpress template; the blogger css hasn’t been updated to the latest colour scheme changes but that will be an easy fix. nothing is validated yet thanks to itchy fingers and 3rd party applications (i.e. plurk and last.fm) which are never ever formatted to any damn standards. it’s a rule of nature, methinks. it will be cleaned up when i can be arsed enough.

am quite pleased it’s done, but the 2 years worth of rust is worrying me.

must. keep. with it.

update: plurk and last.fm (as predicted) are both jamming monkey wrenches into my validation. but, who’s care?™ everything else is perfect.
